Aromatherapy
◇ Essential Oils
I love to harness the power of the highest quality, certified organic (where it is possible) Essential Oils, and to make Aromatherapy a part of every treatment. The gauge of the purity and quality of Essential Oils is the strength of the aroma and how closely that resembles the origin plant or resin. I can tell you about the specific benefits of each Oil during our session, if you would like to choose which one to have. The following I like to use:
◆ Lavender
◆ Peppermint
◆ Rosemary
◆ Chamomile
◆ Jasmine
◆ Tea Tree
◆ Lemon
◆ Rose Absolute (Damascus Rose)
◆ Ginger
◆ Cinnamon
◆ Mandarin
◆ Neroli
◆ Grapefruit
◆ Cardamon
◆ Frankincense
❖ I also love to use a home-made Vanilla infusion, using whole vanilla pods from Tahiti.
❖ Often I use fresh crushed petals ❦ usually from Rose or Jasmine flowers :)
◇ Carrier Oils
If you are having a Massage with hot oil (Yoga Massage and Ashiatsu do not require oil but they can include it) - the carrier oil I use will be extra-virgin Coconut Oil (which naturally has a scent) or organic cold-pressed Grapeseed, Jojoba or Sweet Almond oils (which have no scent, and have more glide). All of these are light, suitable for sensitive skin and they will nourish your skin.
You may prefer a heavier, waxier sensation. If so, I also use unrefined organic Avocado and Argan Oils.
◇ Hot and Warm Oils
All oils and creams will be either hot or warm - I carry two oil burners.
❄︎ Ice
I use ice.
◇ Macerated Oils
Sometimes I use home-macerated (plant-infused) oils such as Calendula Oil, which soothes irritated skin and Arnica infused oil, which has healing properties that make it useful for treating sports injuries and bruises. If you do not like oil, I have melting creams.
◇ Nuru Gel
If you do not like oil or cream, and wish to explore Nuru Massage (“nuru” means slippery in Japanese), I order traditional gel from Japan. It is made with Nori seaweed and various botanicals, it has a mild marine scent and feeds your skin whilst creating a sliding sensation that you may enjoy. Nuru Gel has benefits: It restores skin vitality and tone, and can boost the peripheral circulation of the skin - because Nuru gel contains anti-inflammatories. When used with Nuru Massage it is also said to disperse fatty deposits, help the body to absorb essential minerals and remove toxins from the body.
◇ CBD
I also use different CBD balms and oils from my friend’s company - high potency, broad-spectrum, good for pain relief and muscle relaxation. I also keep Kloris CBD balm on hand.
◇ Glow ✹
I like to always include Dry Skin Brushing with a Natural Bristle Brush at the start of all physical Treatments. Allover brushing will bring blood to the surface of your skin, it will benefit your lymphatic system and it will also exfoliate and brighten your body, making your skin more receptive to the nutrients in the products I use. The oils will mostly absorb into your skin. I can also rub your body with Salt or Coffee and apply steam, as in the Turkish Baths ♥︎
◇ Incense Droplets
I use Firewood and Honeysuckle melting Incense Droplets. These emit low smoke, gradually, for an intense persistent, purifying aroma. I also have various Massage Candles - these allow me to massage you with melted wax from the candle.
◇ Drinks
Healthy and unique refreshments, infused with herbs and flowers from the rainforest, to relax or brighten you, will always be on offer (I will bring them) :)
